Software for independent tutors who'd rather teach than chase invoices
When it's just you, you don't need enterprise software; you need your evenings back. ClassQuill handles booking and invoicing and gives you a built-in learning platform to teach in, so the admin shrinks and the teaching gets better. No team to manage, no payroll to run.
ClassQuill gives an independent tutor one place for bookings, invoices and teaching. You set weekly availability once, sessions turn into draft invoices you review and send, homework from a curriculum-aligned bank is auto-marked for your review, and parents get progress reports. It costs US$20 a month with unlimited students.
Texting four students about scheduling. One parent on a different app.
The week disappears into rescheduling.
Set your weekly hours once. Google Calendar busy times are blocked out and double-bookings are hard-blocked.

Every family wants a different invoice.
Tick any sessions into one invoice. ClassQuill drafts it, you review and send.
Session-based invoicingChasing invoices. "I'll transfer you tomorrow."
The awkward follow-up text.
Parents pay by PayID or bank transfer against a reference code on the invoice, and you mark cash payments paid yourself.
You set homework. Now you're spending your evening marking it.
Marking eats unpaid hours.
Practice from the curriculum-aligned bank is auto-marked, and you review the results.

All you can say is "going well".
Pick a period and ClassQuill drafts the report from the sessions attended and homework handed in. You review it, then publish it to the family.

Is ClassQuill overkill if I'm the only tutor?
No. It starts at US$20/mo for a single tutor and you only turn on what you use. You get booking, invoicing and the learning platform without any of the multi-tutor payroll or team-management layers you don't need.
Can I bill a full term or a block of weeks?
Yes. You can tick any combination of sessions into one invoice, whether that's a full term, a block of five weeks or a single lesson. ClassQuill drafts it and you review and send.
Do I need Xero?
No. Invoices are drafted from your sessions, families pay by PayID or bank transfer against a reference code, and you can mark a payment as received yourself. Xero sync is coming soon, but nothing depends on it.
Do I need to run payroll or manage other tutors?
Not at all. The payroll and tutor-payout features exist for businesses with staff; as a solo tutor you simply never see them. Your setup is booking, invoicing and teaching.
Can I actually teach in it, or is it just admin?
You can teach in it. There's a built-in learning platform with a curriculum-aligned question bank, homework that's auto-marked with your review, and timed practice, so it's a teaching tool, not just a scheduler.
