The star

Marking that reads the working, not just the answer

Typed answers, handwritten working on the whiteboard, or a photo of the page they did it on — it comes back marked, with the line the reasoning broke on circled. Your tutors review what matters instead of ticking what doesn't.

They answer

However they do the work

Typed answers are marked as they save, with no AI involved. A photo of paper working is marked too, and that part belongs to the AI Assistant add-on.

Typed answers mark at once
Numbers and short answers get their verdict as they save. A wrong one can be sent on to their tutor.
It marks

Marked the way an examiner would

Written working is read step by step against the mark scheme. Students get it instantly with the AI Assistant add-on, and on every plan Grade all marks the handed-in work for you.

Carried errors count once
On a multi-part question, a wrong part (a) used correctly in part (b) is marked against what they carried forward. One mistake, one penalty.
  • Handwritten working gets marked line by line
Students write their working on the whiteboard the way they'd write it on paper, or photograph it. Each step is read and marked in its own right, so a student who set the problem up correctly and slipped at the end keeps the method marks — the way a real examiner would award them. You stay in control

Mark a whole class set in one press, then open any student. Students can challenge a mark, and you can set or change any of them yourself.

Grade the whole class
Press Grade all and every handed-in attempt on the assignment is marked, with progress as it goes. Open any student to check the marks.
  • If it marks them wrong, they can say so
No marking is perfect, and pretending otherwise is how students stop trusting it. A student can ask for a re-mark and say what was missed — it re-reads their work properly rather than repeating itself. Every challenge and its outcome is recorded, so you can see whether the marking is holding up instead of taking our word for it. Re-marking is part of the AI Assistant add-on.
  • A mark you set is never overwritten
Override any score, or mark a paper yourself and add your own feedback. Run the AI marker again and the parts you have already marked stay exactly as you left them.
